    The SCALANCE XP-200 Industrial Ethernet switches enable cost-effective configuration of Industrial Ethernet line, star or ring topologies with switching functionality for networks in which high availability or remote diagnostic capabilities are required.

    Дизайн

    The SCALANCE XP-200 Industrial Ethernet switches with rugged metal housing are optimized for use outside the control cabinet. Mounting options: on ET 200pro rack, ITEM rail mounting or direct wall mounting in variety of mounting positions.

    Switches in IP65/IP67 degree of protection have:

    • Two 4-pin M12 connections (A-coded) for connection of redundant power supply (2 x 24 V DC)
    • An LED display for display of status information using SELECT/SET button (power, link status, data traffic, power supply, signaling contact)
    • One 2-pin M12 interface (B-coded) for connecting the floating signaling contact
    • One 2-pin M12 interface (D-coded) as console access

    The SCALANCE XP-200 switches are available with the following port types:

    • 10/100 Mbps, M12 connection (D-coded);
      automatic detection of the data rate (10 or 100 Mbps), with autosensing and autocrossover function for connection of IE FC cables via IE FC M12 Plug PRO 2x2 up to 100 m.
    • 10/100/10000 Mbps, M12 connection (X-coded);
      automatic detection of the data rate (10 or 100 or 1000 Mbps), with autosensing and autocrossover function for connection of IE FC cables via IE FC M12 Plug PRO 4x2 up to 100 m.

    • Use in ring topologies together with SCALANCE X-200, X-300, XM-400, S627-2M and XR-500

    • Uncrossed connecting cables can be used due to Autocrossover function integrated in the ports

    • Incorporation in the integrated system diagnostics of the TIA Portal with PROFINET diagnostics of data traffic using a configurable mirror port and a commercially available network analyzer
    • Optimal support of PROFINET real-time communication (RT) through prioritization
    • Fast device replacement in the event of a fault by using the optional C-PLUG swap medium (not included in scope of supply)

    Network topology and network configuration

    The SCALANCE XP-200 Industrial Ethernet Switches in degree of protection IP65/IP67 are typically mounted outside the control cabinet. They can be installed in line, star and ring electrical system topologies.

    When configuring the network, the following boundary conditions must be observed:

    • Length of the TP cable between two SCALANCE X Industrial Ethernet switches:
      • Max. 100 m with IE FC cable and IE FC M12 Plug PRO
    • IP address:
      The IP address is assigned via DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol). If there is no corresponding server in the network, the IP address can be assigned using the supplied software tool PST (Primary Setup Tool) or STEP 7 (TIA Portal).

    Commissioning and diagnostics

    PROFINET diagnostic alarms from SCALANCE XP-200 switches can be displayed with the appropriate SIMATIC Engineering Tools and processed in the controller with the enhanced diagnostic function. The engineering effort for the PLC and HMI have been drastically reduced due to the complete integration in the SIMATIC concept for system error messages.

    The SCALANCE XP-200 Industrial Ethernet switches can also be integrated in a network management system such as SINEMA Server using the standardized Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP). If faults occur on the device, error messages (SNMP traps) can be sent to a network management system or as an e-mail to a specified network administrator.

    The integrated web server enables configuration and diagnostics settings using a standard browser (e.g. port configuration). Statistical information can also be read out via the web server (e.g. port utilization).

    The following information is displayed on site by LEDs:

    The Industrial Ethernet switches of the SCALANCE XP-200 line can also be monitored using the floating signaling contact.
