The SCALANCE TAP104 unmanaged Industrial Ethernet Test Access Port (TAP) is ideally suited for exporting message frames in 10/100 Mbps Industrial Ethernet (particularly PROFINET) networks. Exported message frames can be analyzed with the aid of commercially available diagnostic software for the purpose of diagnosing data communication. The SCALANCE TAP104 can be integrated directly between the connection of two active network stations.
- Rugged plastic housing in SIMATIC S7-1500 design for space-saving cubicle mounting on standard DIN rails, SIMATIC S7-1500, S7-300 DIN rails, or for wall mounting
- Rugged network connections with industry-standard RJ45 connectors that offer additional strain and bending relief thanks to latching on the housing (retaining collar)
- TAPs in RJ45 without retaining collar for simple connection and easy differentiation between diagnostics and network ports
- Diagnostics on the device by means of LEDs (power, data traffic at TAP)
- No reduction of cable length due to integration of the TAP104 between two network components
- In the de-energized condition, TAP104 can also be integrated into the network without any influence on the communication. Activation can only be initiated in cases when message frames have to be exported for diagnostic purposes, for example.

The SCALANCE TAP104 permits the economical integration of a test access port (TAP) for the export of message frame traffic from both transmission directions between two active network components without any influence on the communication or reduction in cable length. Exported message frames can then be analyzed by means of commercially available diagnostics software or a Siemens BUS ANALYZER AGENT.

The SCALANCE TAP104 features:
